Right to Fight
Garret Holeve has Down syndrome however he, and his family, has not let that stand in the way of his dream of becoming a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. His previous attempt to fight a fellow adaptive MMA fighter, David Steffan who has cerebral palsy (‘The Cerebral Assassin’), was prevented by the Florida authorities who deemed the contest to be a health risk. Garrett (aka G Money) is willing to take his struggle to the high courts in a bid to fulfill his dream and this short-documentary follows Garrett as he attempts to gain his right to fight.
Right to Fight was a documentary produced for The Guardian as part of their focus on disability within society and was released online in October 2015.
